Rachel Boisvert - PT
Rachel graduated PT school with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Lebanon Valley College, which is located near Hershey, PA, in May 2018. She married in August 2018, and then moved down to Hickory, NC the following week. Rachel got her first job out of PT school in pediatrics in Hickory, which is the reason that they moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Her and her husband now live in Hickory with their two German Shepherds. They love to hike, kayak, and do other outdoor activities with their dogs and friends! Rachel completed her general physical therapy degree from graduate school but knew that she wanted to practice in pediatrics. In October 2019, Rachel completed a 6-month long course in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), and got her certification in NDT (C/NDT). This course was dedicated to the pediatric population, specifically focusing on children with Cerebral Palsy and other Neuromotor Disorders. The skills and knowledge she had gained from this course allows her to better serve her patients by using therapeutic handling techniques, which allow them to move in more functional movement patterns. Although this course was dedicated to a specific population, she can use the skills and knowledge on all of her patients regardless of their diagnosis or impairments. She loves working with kids, as it provides an additional challenge. She loves working with the kids and their families to help them be more functional and successful in their environment.
